Robert is a retired construction project manager who turned his lifelong appreciation for coastal living and good beer into a new adventure. Robert is a retired construction project manager who turned his lifelong appreciation for coastal living and good beer into a new adventure. He had been a part-time Padre Islander since 2003 before becoming a full-time resident after his retirement in 2014. In 2007 he earned his boat-captain credentials and later upgraded to a 100-ton master license, building deep roots in the Port Aransas and Laguna Madre communities along the way. By February 2024 the idea of creating a neighborhood craft brewery for Padre Island and Flour Bluff began taking shape, inspired by years of friendship, beach culture, and shared pints with locals. Beach Ball Brewing opened for business on Robert’s 50th birthday, August 23, 2024, as a welcoming taproom focused on community gatherings, creative small-batch brewing, and laid-back bay vibes. The rest of the story is still being written—one beer at a time.

Sarah “Tilt” Tilton began home brewing in 2014 with a simple goal: learn how to make truly good beer from scratch. After her first batch, curiosity turned into passion, and she was hooked on the blend of science and creativity that brewing demands. After her first batch, curiosity turned into passion, and she was hooked on the blend of science and creativity that brewing demands. In 2017, Sarah stepped into the professional craft-beer world as head brewer at Railroad Brewing Company, where she focused on refining recipes, fermentation practices, and overall beer quality. A move to Laredo in 2022 for her primary career didn’t slow that momentum—she spent time assisting with brewing and cellar work at Saludos Brewing Company, staying closely connected to the industry. Beach Ball Brewing is fortunate to have her talent in the brewhouse today, where she is already making her mark with balanced, well-crafted, top-quality beers that reflect her years of dedication to the craft.
